Governance
Health and Productivity Management Framework
At the Company, under the direction of the President, the CHRO oversees activities related to occupational health and safety company-wide, including risk management, and reports on these activities to the Board of Directors and other organizations. The health management promotion team is composed of the Employee Relations Department, the NEC Health Insurance Association, and NEC Business Intelligence, Ltd., and promotes efforts in cooperation with related departments. We assign medical professionals of the Wellness Promotion Center to each site to hear about local conditions, create opportunities to share information with labor unions as well, and hold discussions regarding employee health and working styles. We also deploy health and productivity management to consolidated subsidiaries in Japan and undertake groupwide initiatives while accumulating and utilizing data, insights, and know-how held by each company.
The NEC Group’s Health and Productivity Management Implementation Framework
Approach
In order to realize our Purpose, the Company is focusing on “achieving an optimal talent portfolio to increase our strategy execution capabilities” and “transforming people and culture to draw out the maximum potential of employees” based on job-based human resources management from the perspective of human capital management. Underlying this is the mental and physical health of our employees and their families, and we believe that only when each individual is in good mental and physical condition can we maximize our organizational performance and enhance our ability to execute strategies. Rather than simply focusing on the prevention of illness, the NEC Group Health Declaration established in fiscal year 2020 calls for efforts to improve the health of employees so that they can work with mental and physical vitality and achieve self-actualization. In this way, the Group aims to create even more social value.
We carry out a variety of health promotion activities driven by the slogan “Better Condition, Better Life.” Based on three policies—Literacy, Practice, and Technology—we seek to reform health awareness, make behavioral change, and help people maintain healthier behavior. In recognition of these initiatives, NEC has been certified as an Outstanding Organization of KENKO Investment for Health (White 500) for six consecutive years under the certification program implemented by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and was further selected for the 2022 KENKO Investment for Health Stock Selection and 2026 KENKO Investment for Health Stock Selection.

Initiatives for Health and Productivity Management
The Company conducts periodic health checkups, stress checks, monitoring of working hours, etc., and identifies and manages employee health risks. Industrial physicians and HR work together to intervene for high-risk employees and address disease prevention and prevention of progression to severe conditions. In addition, from the perspectives of business sustainability and crisis management, we also deploy initiatives and know-how to external partner companies and strive to promote health and productivity management.
1. Mental Health Measures
Since fiscal year 2024, the number of employees taking leave of absence due to mental health reasons has been increasing. We position mental health care as an important theme and are strengthening our response through both population and high-risk approaches.
- As a population approach, we provide training to all employees to raise awareness of self-care and line care. While also confirming the level of understanding and satisfaction with the training, we are making repeated improvements so that the content will be meaningful for employees. (FY2026 self-care training attendance rate: 95.7%, understanding level: 98.3%, line care training attendance rate: 92.1%, usefulness level: 92.2%)
- As a high-risk approach, we have increased the number of times we encourage employees who are judged to have high stress in stress checks to take interviews, thereby increasing the interview implementation rate and leading to support for eligible individuals. Because background factors of high stress involve working styles and relationships with supervisors, medical professionals and HR intervene in high-risk organizations and have developed a support framework for resolving organizational issues.
